Working at April issue the editors of TJ suddenly recognized that community has entered a wonderful period of the Internet development. We understood at once that everything begins coming true and yield the first fruits. And we have what to be proud of! First of all it is necessary to say about five millionth registration of a user in WebMoney which was made on March 12. It is a doubtless success of the company which has managed to enlarge its client base to that level during incomplete 10 years. There is another outstanding event occurred last month – the tenth anniversary of CyberPlat. On March 18, 1998 CyberPlat payment system has conducted its first payment on the Internet. And recipient of the first Internet payment was “Garant-Park”. It’s pleasant to acknowledge that sphere of electronic finances that was climbing some point where it could hold out, finally has found it and now standing steadily on its legs is looking for a new qualitative development of its brunch.
Such results on Russian market of electronic finances could not stay unnoticed and have already begun to yield fruits. Being inspired with such situation on March 6 one of American payment giants IKobo came to Russia. Another important issue that in our opinion demands more attention than it is paid now, is crediting market in the Internet and, in particular, in WebMoney system. Any development of financial sphere is always built on evolution of crediting instruments; therefore, in our April issue we tried to examine what is WM-credit machine for a common user today.
However, rapid upsurge of virtual economy provokes to not less active development of its underground – fraud sphere, which is present in all more or less commercially profitable corners of the Internet. This topic is so urgent that we could not pass it by and have decided to compose a memo on all kinds of fraud on the Internet to help the beginning financiers. Warned means armed - there is no better piece of advice than to warn about malefactors.
It’s interesting that development of new institutes of virtual economy is accompanied by dying of the old ones. Our editorial staff and most part of Internet users tried to look at the situation around E-gold through pink glasses for a long time. But time passes and, unfortunately, world giant in the field of DGC-payments does not demonstrate anything but its degradation. Hence, in April issue we decided to look at this situation in new light and to understand whether E-Gold has any future and where its present development will lead it. We will leave this question open as topicality of this matter determines its long discussion during the period of more than one year.
In conclusion, it worth saying that rapidity of Internet development influences business in Global Network so much that we have to learn one simple truth that it is necessary to keep up to date. Read, learn, ask and appeal. May be in that case you will keep pace with progress whose slow trot has turned into gallop long ago. However, we will give you a wise piece of advice: if you want to know what will be tomorrow, spend more time for studying of payment systems and novelties that they offer the market, as exactly today’s crazy ideas and concepts of payment systems will become tomorrow’s commonness.
