Virtual economy was always different from the conventional one with its higher pace of development, growth and evolution. For that reason today more and more people prefer online-business as an alternative to its offline brother. In a virtual world all the important events change much quicker and this means that the evolution of online industry development occurs much faster. The succession and the frequency of the events which took place within the last few months made us believe in this statement. And every month brings us new and new changes.
July 2008 was not an exception and it has significantly changed the appearance of the sphere of the electronic finances. We have de facto lost the monster of DGC industry, E-gold company, which failed to resist the pressure of the government and the natural selection within the virtual economy. It is difficult even to imagine that just one month ago the rate of e-gold – wmz was ranging within 25-30% and today this range is 55-65%.
July, rather rich in events, this year has sprung a surprise from WebMoney company. The financial trendsetter of Russia and the CIS countries has surprised the world this time even much more than E-gold. The company has issued a press release in its blog where it announced the blocking of the WMIDs of those exchangers that exchange E-gold, Liberty Reserve, pecunix and other currencies to WMZ. Actually, WebMoney has pulled the plug on exchange business in Russia and worldwide.
