Today we would like to offer you an interview with one of such representatives, for whom poker is not just the game but the life itself…
-How popular is online poker today?
I even don’t know how to answer you. Of course, poker in the West is much developed but within the last 2 years the number of gamblers from the territory of the former USSR shoots up. Earlier I was wondering when I saw my countrymen in tournaments for 1000 people but today I’m not surprised even if some person from CIS country sits together with me in one poker room.
-I have heard that in some cities there are companies enrolling perspective poker players and pay for their games taking some percentage of the winnings.
You are right, if a player decided to profess poker it is not necessary for him to go there. Surely, he will get more if he plays himself however…. Firstly, no one's perfect, secondly, if you decided to deal with poker, sooner or later you will anyway need some pension and in such companies every player has a definite stake, and thirdly, one can always learn something in such companies and then you understand that you cannot progress in such company anymore you can quit it and continue playing on your own.
-Could you please tell what is your background, if it is not a secret?
Surely it’s not a secret. I have a higher education and I’m a specialist in computer sciences.
-Will you change poker for some occupational work?
May be a year ago I would think hard but now I can say with confidence that I won’t. I understood that if you improve your skill the percentage of success-failure decreases to 15%, 85% of the game depends on you, on your tactics and on the state you are being in. Lots of people when just start playing poker win the game but then lose everything in a couple of days. I had the same experience but in some time I took a book as I was interested why it happened. Since that moment 2 years have passed and today I have a library of the books on poker.
- Aren’t you afraid that virtual casinos will be closed?
Such talks had place but now everything is ok, however I think that at such development of the Internet casinos will occupy not the last place. And of course there will be the poker lovers who will play poker or earn on it. And my goal today is to learn to win them.
- Could you please tell us about your stakes and what do they depend on?
When you play for money the stakes can be different. Everything depends on your bank. Everybody starts playing for the small blinds but when you play you should forget about the money, a player should think of the figures.
- What do you mean?
Each gambler has his or her own strategy and according to the rules he should keep it, and there all the money and gaming moments are like figures. There are millions of strategies and it is necessary to find the one to match the nature of the gambler. If you choose someone’s famous strategy it does not mean that you will succeed to earn with it. The optimum option is to create your own strategy as nobody knows you better than yourself.
- Can you give some recommendations to the beginners who want but are afraid to start?
Of course, the main recommendation is to understand that they will hardly succeed without any knowledge and skill. Today many casinos offer some bonuses to attract the beginners. From the first point of view it may seem as a simple enticement but it is a good push for the beginners. Of course, it depends! But on average I get twice as big as the average salary and in companies everything depends on the staff and on the scale.
- If somebody offers the work with the salary twice as big as yours but without any perspective for growth, will you agree?
I think, no. Now I’m working on getting the second higher education but I don’t want to work in my profession. I think I have already made my choice. As I have already said, in this job you need only 15% of luck but not 90% as the majority thinks. I’m interested in this and I’m sure that I can reach all the heights in this job as life is just a game.
