People die for metal or requiem for e-Bullion Sometimes a tragedy of one family may turn into a tragedy of the millions of people. The death of Pamela Fayed appeared to be one of them. Before that tragic day very little people worldwide knew that this blond woman, a mother of two daughters is one of the co-founders and owners of a giant of world virtual economy - E-Bullion payment processor. Nevertheless it has put the beginning to everything. According to some witnesses on July 28 at 6.35 local time, a twentyish unknown young man, has attacked a woman, stabbed her and cut her throat. Having done this he jumped into a red SUV and has gone over the hill. Such a bold crime committed in broad daylight and in public place has immediately evoked a wide response. In addition to the fact that America has almost forgotten such murders, the victim was Pamela Fayed, a person well-known in a certain sphere. The emergency doctors that came to the crime scene could do nothing and the woman went to a better world in the UCLA Medical Center where she was brought. In the morning all the local newspapers and TV channels were covering the tragedy happened. There were lots of guesses and suppositions however the most common one was the main suspect is the husband of the stabbed woman and the co-owner of the company, James Fayed. The materials of the divorce process started last October and haven’t finished yet due to 12 millions in the accounts of the family, have only fueled the flame. Further the events started developing at a rate of knots. On August 1, the officers of FBI have burst into the house of James Fayed and before putting handcuffs on the owner have charged him with… no, not murder! But with the money laundering and unlicensed money transfer business! Nevertheless the community was exultant over this arrest. But it became more exited when the legal agents have announced that the plastic card seized from the wallet of Fayed during the search in him house is the very card used to hire the SUV. Yes, the SUV which drove the murder! The thing is that the car was captured on surveillance video, along with its license. When checked it was found that the SUV has been rented been rented on July 3, 2008 from Avis, the agecy situated not far from Fayed’s Camarillo business. Isn’t it a direct evidence of his guilt? By the way, during the search the officers have seized $3,000,000 in gold bullions and $60,000 in cash sealed in a plastic wrap. What was it? A payment for a good job? The broken-hearted husband is a cold-blooded murderer? All the evidences against him. However those evidences and proofs are too direct to be left by the owner of such company as Goldfinger Coin & Bullion Sales. Probably the more stupid of him would have been a banner “I have killed my wife”. Though the facts are facts and all of them testify contrarily Fayed. However not the murder has brought Е-bullion to the tops of all the forums related to e-finances but one single phrase appeared on the site of the processor on August 5: The e-Bullion website will be unavailable for a period of approximately four hours while our Tech Dept. performs routine maintenance. Probably the tech.department decided to rebuild the whole system and to create several more system on its basis as there are no more ways to explain why the mentioned 4 hours last for one month already. Due to the outage several millions of dollars remained in the accounts of the systems, being blocked, and people have acquired some panic and anxiety for their hard-earned money. According to the company’s statistics since 2001 the system has registered more than 466,300 user accounts. Let’s suppose that a part of the clients have left, let it be, a half of them, then their number is approximately 233,150 users. Anyway it impresses, huh? Just try to image the amount being blocked in the accounts! Let’s suppose that every client had $10, so the total amount in the accounts will be 2,331, 500, that is solid enough. However the press call another figures. So, according to the court documents the Office of Public Prosecutor, they have seized 24 millions kept in the accounts of the users. Also the officers have seized the server and the computers of the company to check and to reveal those who was running the illegal business laundering money trough E-Bullion system. миллиона, хранившихся на счетах пользователей, а также компьютеры и серверы компании. Our readers should remember that the founders of e-gold, the father of DGC industry, have been charged with the same crime and after the long trial have pleaded their guilt. As for Fayed, on the last hearing he has rejected his blame. What shall the thousands of e-bullion users do? The most of them don't care for the issue of suit and for the fate of Fayed, they care only for the money frozen within the system… However, we know that on August 18, Fayed have filed with the lawyer an inquiry to unblock the accounts to let people get their money back. A very noble action… Though we doubt that the court will sustain a motion, at least it has calmed down the users’ anxiety and has made our main character look good. But according to the testimony of his wife he was far from being an angel, and even tried to run from the country with the customers’ millions. Generally, this divorce has washed the Fayeds’ dirty linen in public. It appeared that the rich people don’t cry but quarrel and drag each other through the mud. So, Pamela Fayed was blaming her husband for violation of law and even had offered her assistance in the investigation of her husband’s “misdeeds”. In his turn Fayed claimed that his wife tended to false evidence and cited as an example the case when Pamela was blaming him for sexual harassment towards her and her elder daughter of her first marriage. What has forced the woman to act so? A love to the law you may say? It is unlikely... Most likely it was an offence. According to the same divorce materials Fayed had an absolute control over the company and has limited his wife’s access to all the financial affairs and documentation. As we have already mentioned Mrs. Fayed was insisting upon her version that her husband was going to leave for abroad. However Fayed had another explanation of his behavior and a complete domination in the company. According to Fayed his wife was mad about someone’s property, especially money. Being moved by this desire she took advantage of a scheduled vacation by a Bank of America account manager and on October 6, 2007 has transferred $800,000 from a corporate account in one of their companies to her own one. “I had to postpone customer bank wires, to the annoyance of hundred of customers”, - said Fayed. “Due to the lightning-fast speed in which negative information is conveyed through the Internet and among my customers; if I had not discovered this withdrawal in time to cover, and correct, the problem of the large withdrawal, mass panic and loss of confidence on an international scale would have ensued, which would cause rapid closing of accounts worldwide, resulting in collapse of the company." However that may be and no matter who was guilty but one thing is for sure: the company in not all roses. Have those roses ever existed? During the whole operation period of the company there were always some people complaining about e-bullion, claiming that the system is a big fraudulent scheme that one day would leave all without a single cent. Not long before the “4-hours of routine maintenance” the agencies have received a great number of complains. So, according to the report of the BBB agency at least 36 people said that they were not able to login. Having considered all the claims and analyzed the work of the system, the agency had an F rating. Earlier lots of people were characterizing the system like a Ponzi scheme in which some individuals have invested up to $20 million. So, what comes next? Even if everything will shape well, the system will never be the same. Even if Fayed will be in a clear, the users will hardly venture their money once more. We are more than sure that the first thing that 99% of users will do immediately after system recover is money withdrawal. And here the exchangers can make big money having set the unreal prices for the exchange. We have already witnessed the same situation happened to e-hold.. In case if Fayed won’t be dismissed, the future of e-bullion looks unclear. Due to the fact that husband and wife were the ONLY owners and shareholders of the company, nobody can pretend to become a new company owner except the heirs. One of them, 18-year-old Desiree Goudie, a daughter of Pamela’s first marriage, has already filed a petition to court to get the part of her mother’s shares. May be she won’t get her parents’ company however she can figure on the part of those ill-fated 12 millions that have caused the whole shooting match. However the users don’t care about the owner of the system. They are interested only in their money return, though their hopes for that are on the decrease as well as the ones for the system comeback. Unfirtunately, e-bullion is not phoenix to rise alive from the ashes to live another period, so we can start writing a requiem. Requiem for a Dream named e-bullion. Tell your opinion |
